CLASSIFIED SITES
Classified sites allow the cultivation of wines that develop character through the
interplay of soils, climate and grape variety, whose qualities are set off through finishing in an individual flavour such as dry, medium dry or fruity. To this end, we have devoted years of careful analysis to the ”nature“ of our sites. Today we can offer distinguished wines in various flavours, whose natural structure can even be tasted in nuances. The classified site is the 2nd level in the VDP classification model. The following criteria must be respected: Only high-quality vineyards have been classified for this level. An independent site character is one of the conditions of the classification. Max. highest yield: 60 hl/ha Not marketed until the 1.3. in the year after the harvest. Since the 2007 vintage we have waived away from using the traditional Prädikat terms in dry and medium-dry. This step will enable us to move what is crucial, centre stage in our quality philosophy, i.e. the recognition of a clearly defined origin of the wine. The methods of ecological management in the vineyard and also the vinification methods used for our wines to date have therefore not changed. |
